We are so happy that you're recertifying your space as an ABQ Backyard Refuge!

This is an opportunity to show off your habitat! Use this form to report your observations, challenges, and successes during the past year. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email us at abqbackyardrefuge@friendsofvalledeoro.org.

You can certify at the same level or a higher level. You will get an email confirmation within 2 weeks of your application. We will mail your new species sticker for your sign (Whiptail Lizard for 2024 or Globemallow for 2025), and new certification level sticker if that has changed this year.

Please share new photos of your space and show off your habitat! Email the photos to certificationphotos@friendsofvalledeoro.org.

It's easy to recertify your backyard refuge:

1. Submit this recertification registration and make a donation to sustain the program if you are able.
2. The confirmation email you receive will contain a link to a Google Form with a few prompts for providing an update about your habitat.
3. Email photos to us to show off habitat elements and wild neighbors in your space!

Remember, you can continue to improve your habitat by reviewing the ABQ Backyard Refuge Program resources on the ABQ Backyard Refuge Program website (ABQbackyardrefuge.org) to help you set goals, design, and build a space for your wildlife neighbors at your home or in your community. You can fill out a short form in order to have a copy of the ABQ Backyard Refuge Program Introductory Guide emailed to you, and be sure to check out our regionally-specific Plant List, the iNaturalist Guide of our Plant List that includes photos and geographic distribution of each plant species as well as our Partner Resources on the website.
